For those of you that have not been on one before, and want to find out more, you can read about this year's event below, or hop onto Facebook and ask us about it there.
This year’s Activity Week theme was ‘TV Shows’. We had a packed hall all week with
signing up for the week! We turned the stage into a TV Game show set and had the opportunity to be Noel Edmonds, Davina McCall. Our hosts, Darren and Dave, thought they were as funny as Ant and Dec... They weren’t!! We had a beautiful game show podium, flashing lights and a lovely display board.
The day trips were absolutely loved by the young people! We tried a new activity for the first time in Trafford YFC’s history: Paintballing. This was a huge success with every young person and leader coming back looking both proud and smug! We also did our trusted favourites too, including going to Chester Zoo, Bowling and Ice-Skating, and Blackpool Sandcastle, before finishing off the week at Alton Towers.
We gave all of the young people an ‘Awkward Questions’ challenge where they were challenged to ask the leaders After the popularity of the challenge the previous year we decided to do it again, and what amazing conversations we had with the young people. We offered prizes out to the 'Question of the Day', the toughest question asked, which leaders answered live on stage and often these sparked more interest from the young people.
Long coach journeys meant leaders had more opportunities to and give testimony to what God has been doing in their life. Each evening during our team meeting we would share some of the wonderful things God had been doing during the day.
A lot of this was down to the fantastic team of volunteers that give up a week’s holiday to help out with Activity Week each year. Thank you again to you guys! You know who you are!
